Spring/Summer 2015 Favourites

Christmas has been and gone without even a trace of snow, and it's around this time of year that everybody gets a little depressed. It's for this reason that i'm looking ahead to summer; something to look forward to during those long greyish months ahead.

Here are a few picks from my favourite SS15 Ready-To-Wear collections.

Valentin Yudashkin

This collection was by far my favourite from Paris Fashion Week. Based on a French garden, the outfits look like something from a fairytale. From sheer fabrics to lace, I would wear it all. (I am going to have to do a separate post about this collection, I just love it so much).

Chanel

Perhaps one of the most talked about shows, (only Karl Lagerfeld could hold his own protest at a fashion show, complete with quilted Chanel megaphones), where Street Style was the inspiration for Parisian "Boulevard Chanel". Although, this collection still pulls together classic Chanel heritage, as it showcased it's definitive tweed, watercolour-esque silks, and signature striped cardigan dresses. J'adore!

Elie Saab

For me, Elie Saab is the god of evening wear. He can do no wrong. His 'plunge into the ocean' themed collection subtly nodded to the 70's and included intense shades of orange and blue, as well as elegant pastels and lace. Some of the dresses could pass as wedding gowns, made bold with the use of colours and ombré textiles.

Chloe

Claire Waight Keller's collection of bohemian inspired outfits for Chloe mixed urban with romantic and created the perfect summer vibe. Suede mixed with lace and camisoles, these pieces could be worn on a beach in Ibiza or a at a summer wedding.

Valentino

The 18th century romanticism in the Valentino SS15 Ready-To-Wear show was absolutely stunning. Based on the tradition named the "Grand Tour", where tourists explore the art, culture, and traditions of Italy, the pieces in this collection were beautifully intricate and detailed, and yet somehow elegant and simple, all at the same time. I adore the white eyelet lace dresses and jumpsuits, perfect for a summer soirée.

Sophia Webster

I am a huge fan of Sophia Webster shoes, and her SS15 collection has definitely got me excited for summer. The 'jungle rave' that took place in Southbank at London Fashion Week contained adaptations of existing styles such as 'Riko', and 'Coco'. Flamingo's, peacocks, and aztec prints were abundant in a range of exotic colours, and whilst these shoes aren't for the faint hearted, they sure are eye candy.
