Favourite Autumn Fashion Trends

So Autumn has suddenly appeared, temperatures have plummeted, and it's time to pull together your favourite Autumn trends for this season. Here are a few trends I am currently loving...

1. Hats
Whether it's a fedora, a floppy hat or a classic beanie, hats are great in Autumn. Why? Because not only do they help keep you that little bit warmer, but they can also completely transform a look. I recently bought this Burgundy Floppy Hat from Topshop (£28), and I can't get enough of it.

2. Over the Knee Boots
Whilst they made their biggest come back last year, it seems as though over the knee boots aren't going anywhere for this season. From Chanel, Balenciaga, Versace & Margiela, OTK boots have been spotted upon celebrities such as Blake Lively, Gisele, Olivia Palermo & Miranda Kerr.

3. Outerwear
People often leave outerwear as the last piece to pick when pulling an outfit together, but if you think about it, it is actually key. At the moment, oversized pastel coloured coats are all over the high street. From baby blue, lilac and baby pink, this trend is guaranteed to brighten up a dull Autumn day. I have this blue one from River Island (£80), but I also love the French Connection version.

Elie Saab AW14

Lebanese designer Elie Saab dazzled at Paris fashion week with his incredibly elegant designs for Autumn/Winter 2014. Satin, sequins, ribbons, and fur came draped down the runway, not only as intricate detailing for his signature evening gowns, but also as embellishments on the simpler garments, such as cigarette trousers and capes. The collection featured mostly dark hues of chiffon, velvet, and lace, and layering was an important element here. To me, the collection feels elegant but also eerie, and the ombré fabric adds to this sensation, along with the dark lace and the fierce but feminine designs. The models wore a simple smokey eye and a nude lip, with a centre parting and dead straight hair, so as not to distract from the beauty in the garments. The structuring in the pieces and the juxtaposition of strong and ethereal really hit the nail on the head.

Tobi Wishlist

I'd been looking for an online store to buy summery/holiday clothes for when I go away at Easter, when I came across "Tobi", on Facebook, and the clothes are absolutely gorgeous. In fact, I have spent the last hour going through the entire website (so that I don't miss anything!) and have created a wishlist that doesn't seem to end. I am trying to whittle it down to a reasonable amount, so that I don't blow my student loan all in one go, but I just want it all! Whilst the clothes look to be of a really good quality, they are also very, very, reasonably priced, AND you get 50% off your first order. What more could you want?

Here are some of the items that I am loving:

Paris Haute Couture SS14 Favourites - Chanel

Everyone that knows me will be aware of my obsession with Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld. However, the Chanel Haute Couture collection for SS14 that hit the runway at Paris Fashion Week, has been the talk of the fashion world ever since. The collection itself mixed new, modern elements of "sports luxe", with details that are classic to Chanel's past designs, in the most elegant silver and pastel tones. Some of the model's sported accessories such as crystal embellished knee pads and bumbags, in colours to perfectly compliment the clothing, and every single model wore a pair of trainers, which had been embroidered, laser cut to imitate lace, and jewelled. However, designs famous to Chanel such as the classic white collar, French tweed, and that Chanel suit, were all integral components of this collection. The mixture of column dresses, crop tops with built-in structuring to create ladylike curves and matching A-line skirt, embellished tunics with matching skinny trousers, and bias cut gowns, together made a truly spectacular offering. I LOVE.

The makeup adorned by the models perfectly complimented the silvers that dominated the collection. The eyes were the focus of the look, with a bold feline-esque liner on the lid and a smattering of irridescent crystals below the eye. Beautiful!
